The Hillsborough County Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Inc. provides assistance to those in need, without regard to race, creed, or color. Assistance is provided in the form of food, clothing, household items, and financial aid. The assistance is given to those in need on a case-to-case basis. Vincentian volunteers who are trained and guided by the Rules of the National Society of St. Vincent de Paul determine eligibility. The overlaying factor in eligibility is basic need. Much stress is put on the desire to reduce hunger; thereby, allowing people to live a more productive and healthy life. The Society provides the assistance with the focus on alleviating the suffering of individuals and families in a financial crisis in order to help them to become self-sufficient members of society. The one-on-one case management allows the volunteers to provide our services in a caring and personal manner.
