The Housing Authority of the City of Lawndale accepts registrations by telephone for Section 8 rental assistance on an on-going basis. The Section 8 program provides a rental subsidy on behalf of very low-income families, and elderly and disabled persons in privately owned housing. The Housing Authority first serves eligible registrants that live or work in the City of Lawndale. The Los Angeles County Housing Authority administers the Section 8 program on behalf of the Housing Authority of the City of Lawndale. Income limits for the Section 8 program are as follows:In order to process your registration, you must have the following information available when you call: Name of Head of Household Birth date Social Security Number Address Telephone number Total Annual Income Source of all households member s income Information concerning household members with a disability For ALL other people who will be living in the household: Names Birth dates Social Security numbers Please write this information on a sheet of paper and have it available when you call. Your registration request will not be processed unless you are prepared to quickly provide this information. To request that your name be placed on the preliminary registration waiting list for the Section 8 program please call (562) 347-4663. Calls are accepted Monday through Thursday from 8:30a.m. until 6:00p.m. and Fridays from 8:30a.m. until 5:00p.m.
